BuildWise estimates are based on standard industry formulas and typical coverage rates. They're a strong starting point for budgeting and shopping lists, but actual material needs can vary with site conditions, waste, and installation method — always confirm quantities with your supplier before a large purchase.

Open any calculator and use its unit picker (next to the dimension fields) to switch between feet, meters, and other units — each calculator remembers your last choice.

Materials are sold in whole units — you can't buy half a bag of concrete or a fraction of a tile box — so results round up to the nearest purchasable amount, with a waste allowance you can adjust in most calculators.

Open any locked calculator, or go to Settings → BuildWise Pro, and tap "Unlock BuildWise Pro." It's a one-time purchase that removes ads and unlocks every premium calculator for good.

Yes — every calculation runs entirely on your device. An internet connection is only used for ads (free tier) and completing a purchase.

Purchases are processed by the app store you downloaded BuildWise from. Refunds are handled according to that store's refund policy — request a refund through Google Play's order history (Android) or Apple's "Report a Problem" page (iOS), since BuildWise does not directly process payments or issue refunds.
